No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the planet by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover anything he could about the game. He routinely would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental feedback from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.
Phil began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win was not a normal thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to hard work and a continuing passion for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is quite humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.
Although Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
