No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker contender in the world by most of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse comments from other people annihilate his goal of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.
He began playing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated many of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his success. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
