NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to pickup every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the best poker players in the world.
Phil started playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making errors in each session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Even though Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a regular basis.
